Sigh

So, while in Wichita this past week, I went shopping. I had a Michael's coupon for $10 off if you spent $40, or $5 off if you spent $25. And I see a simply lovely scrapbook. A Laura Ashley scrapbook, sprigged with pink rosebuds. The scrapbook of my dreams.
However, the coupon in question only gave you 25% off, and I had another one, good on Saturday, that gave you 50% off. So I determined I would go to the Houston's Michael's on Saturday after we got back, and get it there. Because, you know, Houston is the 4th largest metropolitan area in the United States, and Wichita is ~the 28th largest.
So, after 10 hours of driving Saturday, we arrive home. I unpack and then go to Michaels. Did they have the scrapbook of my dreams? Did the Michaels located 10 miles the other way? NO.

it had to happen

my younger daughter has started losing her baby teeth. she is no longer a baby. sigh. though i appreciate the decrease in labor intensity that having children instead of toddlers or babies implies, i do miss the cuddliness of that era.
plus, it makes me feel old.

p.s. she actually swallowed her 2nd tooth. she was eating a piece of pumpkin pie, and it came out. she thought it was a nut in the pie, and swallowed it, so we had to write the tooth fairy a note. tooth fairy almost forgot to give her any money, but tooth fairy's dad reminded her about midnight.

Shocking!

What?! Brittany and K-Fed are divorcing? I'm shocked!
Shocked, I tell you!

Irony

So I'm at our local public library, perusing the community bulletin board, and lo and behold, there's a flyer vaunting a "Writing Coach". She's got 20 years of experience in teaching, yadayada. All well and good, except that in the flyer, she mentions she is good at the proper form for "sighting" a bibliography.

Ahem. That would be "citing", Miss "Writing Coach".
