Ratings on the New TV Shows
Standoff -- watched 5 minutes of pilot, changed the channel. Yawn.
Shark -- James Woods is a fine actor, but the premise of the show and its execution lack a hook to keep me watchiing. And the banter between him and Jerri Ryan smacks too much of 90s dialogue.
Ugly Betty -- so how many times can we make fun of someone who's not pretty and have it be funny? How about 0? A one-joke show. Pass.
Six Degrees -- A bit soap opera-esque, but a guilty pleasure. On the watch list for now.
1 vs 100 -- not my kind of show
Men In Trees - ditto
Kidnapped -- good show. Conrad, we barely knew ye. I'll watch till its 13 contracted episodes are gone.
Vanished -- I don't care about any of these characters. They could all vanish, as far as I'm concerned.
Heroes -- LOVE this show. Interesting premise, great writing. Makes me want more at the end of every show.
Studio 60 at the Sunset Strip -- yes, M Perry's character may be Aaron Sorkin, Harriet may be Kristin Chenoweth, etc, making the whole show a sort of roman a clef. I don't care. Love the writing.
Brothers and Sisters -- Pass
Justice -- Haven't we seen this show already? Pass.
Friday Night Lights -- a bit draggy at times, but it features the handheld camera work I have loved since Homicide: Life on the Street. Beautiful, and Kyle Chandler is yummy.
Smith -- there was no one to root for in this show. not surprised it got the axe.
The Nine -- I'm going to watch it this week, as it sounds interesting. Since the network hasn't cancelled it yet, maybe it'll have some legs.
Jericho -- interesting but dark. am watching for now, esp since it's set in Kansas (tho not filmed there, of course)
